The objective of this design and construct project was to deliver remediation and refurbishment to 4 buildings at the Defence historical site of heritage significance, Fort Gellibrand, Williamstown, Victoria. As well as refurbishment works to each of the 4 buildings, one of the buildings required the structural remediation to the subfloor including removal of all internal linings and flooring to facilitate excavation, restumping and relevelling of the floor structure. External civil works to address stormwater and finished levels was also undertaken, as well as electrical upgrades and installation of new HVAC systems.

Design and construct deliverables where managed to mitigate all adverse impacts to historical values as set out in Fort Gellibrand Heritage Management Plan. With works undertaken to several buildings of high heritage significance, a Heritage Impact Assessment (HIA) was developed by APGC to identify all existing conditions and recommendations for heritage conservation in the design, construction, and management of the project. The project was delivered with no environmental impacts, including during the "chance find" discovery of several artefacts.
